Susan Mendes

Susan (Taber) Mendes 77 formerly of New Bedford passed away Sunday October 11, 2020 at her home. She was the widow of David C. Mendes and daughter of the late Grandison R. and Leona (King) Taber. She was born in New Bedford and had lived in this area all of her life. She was formerly employed as a nurse for CMH Service. Survivors include her sons Christopher Busby and his companion Bethany Cambra of New Bedford, Joshua Pontes of Florida and Tracy Tavares of New Bedford; her daughter Robyne Tavares of Dartmouth; her brothers Grandison K. Taber and his wife Jacqueline of New Bedford, Jonathan Taber and his wife Donna of Acushnet and Carl Federico of Dartmouth, her sister Katherine Tracey and her husband Chris of Dartmouth; 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Her visiting hours will be 9-11am on Thursday October 15 at the Boulevard Funeral Home 223 Ashley Blvd., followed by her funeral service at 11am. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Humane Society and Shelter, 31 Ventura Drive Dartmouth, MA 2747. All attendees are required to wear face coverings and practice social distancing.
