Private services were held for Virginia D. (Roza) Rodrigues 91 of New Bedford who passed away Wednesday June 10, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the wife of the late Paul Rodrigues and daughter of the late Joseph and Marie Estelle (Gagner) Roza. She was born in Sandwich, MA. Virginia graduated from the Henry T. Wing High School class of 1942 and attended the Copley Secretarial School in Boston. During WWII she worked at Camp Edwards in the Personnel Dept. where she met her husband of 58 years, moved to New Bedford and raised her family. Virginia was the consummate mother, wife and home maker. She loved taking care of her boys, tending carefully to every meal and keeping an immaculate home. Virginia also fashioned herself as an amateur poet and loved to read her work to any audience she could capture. She will be remembered as a kind and loving woman who only saw the good in everyone. Survivors include her sons, Paul Rodrigues Jr. and his wife Cathy of New Bedford and Arthur Rodrigues and his wife Elizabeth of Exeter, RI; 6 grandchildren Thomas Rodrigues, Matthew Rodrigues and his wife Kaitlyn, Daniel Rodrigues, Audrey Rodrigues, Chelsea Bhumralkar and her husband Nilesh and Jocelyn Rodrigues. Also several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Donald Roza, Joseph P. Roza Jr. and Irene Estelle Lawrence.
