Duarte Botelho

May 15, 1937 — February 3, 2020

Duarte M Botelho, 82 of New Bedford passed away at St. Luke's Hospital on Monday, February 3rd. Born in St. Michael, Azores, Portugal, he was the husband of the late Maria Aldora (DaSilva) Botelho. He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. He is survived by his son, George Botelho of Fairhaven; his daughters, Maria Marden of Boston, Paula Briggs of Louisiana, Betty Medeiros of New Bedford, Rosa Botelho Salvador of Westport and Maria Fatima Snow of New Bedford; brother James Botelho and wife Adlina of New Bedford; 17 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Margaret Jacques. Duarte is also predeceased by his brothers Arthur Botelho and William Botelho; sisters Sophie Soares, Irene DeMedeiros and Hilda Baezzio. His Funeral Mass will be held Monday, February 10th at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception at 9am with burial to follow in Rural Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-6pm at the Funeral Home.
