Kim Parker

July 5, 1958 — June 15, 2022

Kim A. Curt Parker of New Bedford, MA passed away peacefully on June 15, 2022, with loved ones by her side.

Born in Fall River on July 5, 1958, Kim was the daughter of the late Mary Curt (Fleck) and Gerald Curt. Kim grew up in Somerset, MA where she was a 1976 graduate of Somerset High School and was a member of the Hall of Fame Field Hockey Team of 1975. She owned a successful children’s home daycare where she impacted the lives of many and loved watching them and their families grow, many of whom she remained in contact with until she passed. She also enjoyed and fondly remembered her years coaching softball and attending her children’s’ sporting events. She was a proud mother and cherished her children very much.

Kim will be remembered as loving, caring, kind, and those that had the joy of knowing her, know she had a huge heart. She was the kind of person who would do anything to make someone else’s day easier, even when she was going through difficult times herself. Kim loved knitting, cooking, springtime and lilac season, and spending time and chatting with her dear friends Heidi Snell Pelletier and Marie Amaral. She will be forever loved and missed by all that knew her.

Kim is survived by her 3 children: Andrew Parker and his wife Jennifer Pimental, Lindsey Parker and her partner Rob Hooper, and Cady Parker, all of New Bedford. She is also survived by her grandson, Jacob Parker, whom she adored, as well as her sister and best friend, Susan Cote, brother Jay Curt, and brother Steven Curt and his wife Kathy Curt. Kim was also the sister of the late Sandra Curt. In addition, former husband Gregory Parker, sister-in-law MaryLee Parker, niece Janille Jeremie, nephew Jeremy Boutin, and late mother-in-law Hervina Parker were all dearly loved by Kim.

In lieu of flowers, Kim’s family asks that you make a donation to the National Kidney Foundation and consider becoming an organ donor.
