Maria "Connie" daConceicao (Botelho) Lavado, 74, of New Bedford, passed away Wednesday, May 19th in Raleigh, North Carolina. She was born in Capelas, Sao Miguel, Portugal daughter of the late Jose Botelho and Gilda Medeiros. Maria was the wife of Tiofilo Martin Lavado. As a communicant of St. Mary's Church in New Bedford, Maria was member of the St. Mary's Women's Guild. She loved to crochet. Maria loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren, they were her life. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing Candy Crush. She is survived by her husband; son, Daniel Lavado and wife Shera of North Carolina; brothers, Luciano Botelho of Fall River and Jose Botelho of Fall River; grandchildren, Ava Lavado and Brady Lavado of North Carolina. She was the Godmother to Grace Furtado of Dartmouth, Philomena Medeiros of Fall River, Pamela Carvalho of Fall River, Luciano Botelho of Fall River, Robert Botelho of Fall River and Daniel Botelho of Fall River. Maria is preceded in death by her son; Tony Lavado, sister, Palmira Luciana Carvalho and brother, Almino Botelho. Her Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, May 25th at 10:30am St. Mary's Church New Bedford. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Everyone is welcome to pay their respects prior to the Funeral Mass starting at 8:30am at 223 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford, MA.
